I have a 200ICP with embedded voicemail. When you call a voicemail user the greeting says "I am sorry the person you are trying to reach is unavailable at this time." After trying a number of things I replaced the hard drive and upgraded to 5.0.2.12 restored the database and I am still getting the same issue. The recorded greeting in any mailbox does not play even when you set the mailbox up and confirm the greeting was recorded.

any ideas?

There are several things to check. First, was the forward to voice mail ever working?

I would check form 49 to see if there is any corruption there. Then check the voice mail ports and see if they are in a hunt group. Then check an extension's CF Busy/No Answer to see if it is CF to the VM hunt group. Check the COS of the VM ports as well as the extension ports to see if anything weird has happened.

Finally, check form 50 and make sure the extensions are enabled to take voice mail. I had one extension that had a zero for maximum messages. No reason, it just was. Presented the same problem as you describe.

thanks for the reply, the voicemail system and pbx have been in for at least 6 years, I was expecting corruption as when I went in a few days ago all mailboxes were gone except 0 and 9999. I rebuilt them confirmed forwarding even added a completely new one to test and still no greeting, that is when I replaced the hard drive. I have compared for 49 to what it was a few months ago and the cos of the vmail ports and the same. I even confirmed with three other systems and same form 49 and cos, form 50 looks good also. What is strange is the mailboxes work ok other than the greeting part.

Is it possible that tenant night switching has got the rooms in a night mode with no greeting? What happens if you make an alternate greeting? Did you check the rooms in after replacing the hard drive?

thanks for the reply westerntelephone, the greeting that is not playing is the individual voicemail users greeting. Temporary greeting does not work also, seems any recorded greeting is not playing
