I am trying to use an alternate for outbound smtp vmail-to-email.
I tried to set up a gmail as per the above with address 173.194.64.27 as the smtp address and port 25. Then leave doman, user and password blank and it doesn't work.
Any ideas how to set up a gmail account on an SVMi-20E ?

I've used - aspmx.l.google.com on IPUMS successfully.
Just ping it and get the ip address
port 25
It doesn't support SSL/TLS (like the SVMi-20e)

Try using 74.125.198.108 That is the ip address for smtp.gmail.com

Just use this ip address:
74.125.203.27 (aspmx.l.google.com)
port 25
you will need a valid user id /password on the customers account (eg the address you are using as the reply to in the system wide paramaters)
I've used this successfully
