I have never tried dial-in, are still trying to figure out how to do it. in this article, IPO Remote Access Guidelines, it says " This option requires a dedicated outside line connected to the IP Office trunk port. This line cannot be used for inbound calls but can be used for outbound customer calling. " So we will lose a line for incoming call, is that right?

No, it has been a while since i used dial up, but i remember a way to allow the customer to enter a code, and then the next call that came in on that trunk would get modem tones. And when remote was done, use same code to disable the modem.
For remote programming, dial up was fine. for troubleshooting, modem doesn't work very well.

Thank you for your constructive reply.
It says "When (modem enabled is) on, the trunk can only be used for analog modem calls. The default system short code *9000* can be used to toggle this setting.
So we need ask customer use the short code to toggle between normal calls and modem calls, isn't it?

Yes. Also, for the port forwarding...there is no "Gateway" setting you need to worry about. You forward your port to the IPO...
