Hello -

I have a law firm who does collections and has to have all calls go to greeting that gives legal information prior to listing options etc. Because they are collecting a debt they need callers to listen to this message in its entirety before making a selection.

I have been working who tech support and I can have any single digit option revert back to this greeting but if an extension is dialed it will go through. I am waiting to hear back from them on whether or not we can not allow an extension to be dialed, but while I am waiting does anyone here have any ideas?

It is an IES32 VM. I would also need to know if this could be done in the application server?

Use the @P token to play a greeting where any dtmf tone is ignored. Or use the @M token to allow single-digit dialing only. Works with all Stratagys.

Tech support did have me do this token programming: M(G1,2,20)G(801) and then set all the menu options in 80 to be 80 so it goes back to the greeting in 801, which is where all the legal stuff is. That works great if the caller only enters 1 digit. IF the caller enters 3 digits for an extension it goes through.

Would using @P stop this from happening? How would I use it in conjunction with what tech support gave me above?

I tried @P instead of @M in the string tech support gave me and it still allows the extension to go through.

Any other ideas?

Wouldn't removing all station/users mailboxes stop the VM from sending calls to stations?

How is it that the callers know the station numbers to be able to dial direct?

Seems like there maybe a small amount of internal etiquette needed?

Is DND setting on in the mailbox that is playing this greeting? The extension field where the token programming is placed must be executed or it will not correctly.

This is a law firm and the system has been in play for many years. People give out there extensions so there are a fair amount of people that would just dial it once they heard the AA. Now that they are doing collections, they need all callers to hear the disclaimer info before going anywhere.

I have been working with tech support and there is no way to do what I need to happen in the IES32. It can be done in the App server vs. 1.7.1

Is this Toshiba tech support? For kicks, I just tried it with the @P token and it works fine. The trick is to use a mailbox other than 990.

What you must do is send all the callers to a pilot DN with a precise mailbox (no1).

For that mailbox no1, Change the Chain RNA and Busy to another mailbox(no2).

For that other Mailbox no2 change the extension to @P(G1) where G1 stand for greeting 1 of that particular mailbox. If you want to send your callers to a menu afterward add G(990). The extension should look like @P(G1)G(990)

You can read that token like: Play Greeting 1 and Goto mailbox 990
