How do you set up music on hold on IPOffice 9.1? I did everything the instructions say, but it still doesn't work.

Upload the holdmusic.wav file to the SD card's Primary folder, using Embedded File Management in Manager

I did that but it does not work. I also tried uploading it from the TFTP server in IPOffice Manager, but got an error message in the TFTP log. Any idea what the problem might be? I checked the .wav file, and it is in the required format. I got it here: https://pbxbook.com/ipoffice/ipomoh.html

In the SYSTEM tab, make sure your tftp and http servers are set to the same IP as your LAN1 IP is. AND, make sure you set the "Phone file server type" to disk.

I don't see these settings in the simplified Manager (basic edition). Can I switch to the regular Manager (essential edition) without messing up my configuration? How do I do this? In Manager I see "File -- Advanced -- Change Mode ..." but nothing happens when I click on this.

I found a setting for "File Writer IP Address" under System Setup in Manager. The help file says to change this from 0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255 or to my laptop's IP. I will try this. I also found an article on how to convert files to the format required by IP Office using a free open source program called Audacity. https://htsqatar.com/avaya-recording-converting-wave-file-using-audacity/

Oh by the way I found out that if you switch Manager to advanced view and save the configuration, it changes your system into Essential mode; and if you don't have a license for Essential mode, the system will not provide any telephone functions.

I always use an external device such as On-Hold Plus OHP-8000 or similar for MOH. Much simpler setup and easier for the customer to change the file if need be.

I have the OHP-8000 in 3 locations. It comes with some licensed music but also has a USB drive that can be customized.
