One of my clients has an Axxess 6.006 system, and is happy with it. Fortunately, everything is working fine.
I stubbed my toe on a used CPC card some time back, so I picked it up, but it is v11 card - much newer. I thought I would take some after-hours time and see if I could convert the older database and upload it to the newer card and then shelf it as a spare.
1st - I defaulted the database on this "new" v11 card. Have I given up all licensing for this board?
2nd - Can v11 be converted to 3-digit extensions? I'd like to not have to change the existing system, if in fact I can actually use this board.
I'm not out anything on this card, but I would like to have a spare, and it would be nice to be able to use phantom numbers.
I'd appreciate any helpful hints anyone can toss my way. -Thanks

The license is lost when the CPC is defaulted.
Axxess will allow extensions from 1 to 5 digits. There is nothing to "convert" and you can mix and match as needed.

I've only worked with PAL licensing, and I failed to do my homework on the vll software licensing requirements. I hate it when I do that.
And I'm confused - when I attempted to restore a database backup from the v6 system onto the v11 system, it failed with a version mis-match error. I though that was what the database conversion utility was for.

Is there any way to recover the license for the V11 CPC?

If not recover, then is there any way to get a new license for one of these boards? I don't care what version.
Otherwise I'm just gonna pitch it.

I honestly don't know about transferring a license since Mitel stopped supporting the Axxess platform. I do know that your current licenses can still be downloaded from the AMC.
It's worth a phone call to find out.

I don't think I can do that, as I'm not Inter-Tel/Mitel authorized, and this card was surplused, so the original customer is unknown. I've seen the 'enter serial number/download license' screen in the support portal before (with a former colleague - he's no longer available), but I don't have a login.
I'm guessing that this is a paperweight to me, then. Sincwe I have a spare PAL-licensed board for this client, I don't need this one, but I did think it would be nice to play with it's features. Oh well...

Well, thanks anyway. I'll assume that it's just a cat toy now.

AFAIK, Mitel was not allowing any license transfers, nor license changes for AXXESS any longer. As stated, you could download the licenses you had registered.
But buying the CPS card surplus is useless now.
I've seen sellers on eBay that have obviously cracked the license scheme, and selling boards with like 9999 SIP licenses and 9999 desktop licenses, and everything else lit up, but I have no leads on who was doing that. But since those surplus CPS boards were going for some pretty good change, I doubt that they'd give up their money grab scheme.

Thanks. Since I don't have a Mitel account, I can't even download whatever license was originally paired with this CPU serialno.
This is not a great loss, as I mentioned, as I kinda stumbled upon this card when I picked up a spare OPC, so I'm not out anything. My client has a spare PAL CPU, and I keep the db programming in sync every month or so.
I just hate that I'm such an idiot. I was wanting to play with it and see what I could do with it, but now I've broken a toy and I feel sad, just like when I was a kid taking things apart.
