I need help with installing a 24 port vm card in a win 2000 voicemail on a 9.0 inter-tel system.
My client has an 8 port card and a 4 port card and he wants to pull out the 4 port card and install a 24 port card.
I'm a bit rusty on the inter-tel stuff so I could use a little help on the procedure for this.
What should the jumper settings be on the new 24 port card and are there any specifics i need to know about so that this doesn't blow up?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the delay. I thought one of our more up to date gurus would have already been by to answer this one. When I saw it was still unanswered I checked my manuals, but can't seem to locate the settings here. Perhaps when Rhett has time he'll be able to find the answer. He has a database the size of NASA. laugh

Ahhh Rhetorex.

  • First things first. Set the watchdog service to manual before shutting down to prevent AVDAP from starting on the next reboot.
  • Power down and pull the 4 port VPC. Match the jumper settings to the VPC you pull out.
  • Insert the new VPC in the old VPC slot, connect everything and boot the VPU.
  • Log in and update the Rhetorex Configuration Utility with the new board assignments.
  • Set the watchdog service back to automatic.
  • Reboot and watch the AvdapMon screen as the AVDAP starts loading. You should see the boards initialize as ports 1-8, then 9-32 or reversed if board 1 is the 24 port card.
