Howdy, We have an Axxess 8.224 system with an IPRC. We have a 8622 ip phone that used to work before system upgrade ( I think it used a PAL). When I tried to hook it up I get License Error IP Endpoint. DB Studio reports: IP Endpoints: 1 IP Endpoint Licenses in use: 0 of 0
1. Does this mean I now need to purchase a license for this software version?
2. Can other VOIP phones work with this system without license?
3. Where can I get a license for this phone? It seems like Mitel has bought Inter-tel and I cannot navigate to a endpoint license purchase.
I called our regular technician and he said the phone is not compatible with our system anymore??

Yes, you need a license. No, other IP phones won't work. It can be purchased from your Inter-Tel vendor. The phone you have will work, but you may need a firmware update from Inter-Tel

Well, you could get an 8660 or even older models to work without a license, but these would probably require an update to the firmware and also use a different power brick.

Thanks dfleschute and SoCalJake. :toast: I finally got a quote from inter-tell for $210.56 for a class A endpoint license. Needless to say, we are probably putting our 8622 up for sale. Any luck with a softphone and SIP(linphone or ekiga) Or will that take a class B endpoint license in our Axxess?

That's too bad. As far as softphones on an Axxess, you're stuck again as they require B licenses, an upgrade to 9.1 AND it has to be an Inter-Tel 8602 model; no freebies this route either.
There is an older Inter-Tel softphone that's no longer supported but it, too has it's list of dependencies.
