We are having an issue with a Merlin Magix with Legend MLX cards.
When a call comes in and is transferred by the operator by pressing transfer and the dialing the extension number the caller hears a busy tone before the operator hangs up. Once the operator hangs up the call rings to the station.

If the same operator transfers the call using the DSS/BLF there is no issue. bash

Thanks for your time and help in advance.

It worked fine until last week.
If someone presses the pickup button to take the call and transfers the call without the DSS/BLF the same thing happens.

No, it happens on any telephone.
Transfer and then the extension number busy before the operator hangs up.
Transfer and the DSS/BLF the call goes through without a hitch.
Oddest thing ever.

David, my suggestions are not often thought to be worthy of consideration, so consider the source. since your question is two days old, let me tell you what comes to mind. a long time ago an angry system administrator recorded a busy signal as a voice mail system greeting. when users tried to call voice mail, they only received a busy signal, so to users, the voice mail was completely broken. dss transfers are usually programmed to complete immediately . this would probably prevent the caller from hearing the normal transfer on hold feedback. manual transfers will put the caller on hold until the transfer is completed. is it possible that your callers are hearing a busy signal because that is what is being provided as moh? try changing the moh option to ringing instead of music or if there is a music on hold source, just disconnect it for test.

I really appreciate your time and input guys, the problem persists.

I called the customer and had them out me on hold, no issues there, the music is a static free mp3.
Thanks!
Dave
