I have a customer who is in the processes of going with a hosted solution and (1) of the 9 phones is not working because the cabling is not passing I only see (1) Pair on the Data wiring

but on the exiting voice cable I see 2 good pairs

I am wondering if I can get the phone working on 2 Pairs

The power is going to be at the phone

The building is like a house so cabling will be tough & and expensive

any thoughts

I would give it a shot. You only need two pairs and what have you got to lose not trying? Good Luck.

Mitel makes a "magic" box that will work on only 1 pair: https://www.mitel.com/products/mitel-mivoice/mitel-streamline

From what I understand they don't make it themselves so the same box with a different name is likely available.

You can get 100base-t out of 2 pairs which will support the phone

Yeah, big money. Several companies out there make inexpensive transmitter/receiver (really DSL) boxes, probably the same thing as Mitel, that will put ethernet on one pair. We've used them to extend data to another building over a pair on CAT zero OSP cable. I'm sure it would have no trouble with the short distance you need.

Try two pairs, if not this should work.
