We are installing a phone system where the customer makes pharmaceutical products in clean rooms. They need to call into the clean rooms and answer back hands free. I can't find anything by Valcom or Viking that has a clean room application. Has anybody come across this same scenario? If so what was your solution. We have found analog clean room phones but you have to hit a button to answer calls. Thanks

Viking Electronics E30-EWP. We have installed these at the University Of Pittsburgh research clean rooms.

I agree with Rcaman the Viking Electronics E30-EWP. We have used these in some labs as well on several different system using analog ports.

I used to install AE panel phones with built in speakerphones and add-on foot switches in hospital ORs.

The Viking unit is a door box and still requires you to touch the button with your hand (when making a call). I don't know if that is a deal breaker in a clean room.

The OP indicated they needed to call the clean room and answer back hands free. There was no requirement for initiating a call, however, the Viking unit is stainless steel and, in the clean rooms we installed them, was used for both initiating and receiving calls.

??????

Valcom has all sorts of Talkback horns and controllers. We used to put in quite a few of them years ago.

Maybe I'm missing the specific meaning of "Clean Room".

Well, there are different degrees of clean rooms and we don't know what the OPs requirements are. However, I suspect that the OP is looking for something that specifically states that it is made for clean room applications in its description.

How about this:

I clicked on the pdf of the list of chemicals that it was resistant to....wow. Take a look. Not too many devices are resistant to all of those items listed.

Yeah I had called Viking regarding the E30-EWP and Sales Support said they are NOT clean room certified. Looking at the GAItronics...

I just checked Allen Tel as they used to manufacture panel phones. They seem to be selling Gaitronics. That may turn out to be your best bet, if Viking doesn't work.
