Hi All, Haven't posted often but really enjoy reading and getting help from everyone here who posts their answers in the forums.

So I'm a tech and working on a Nortel Flash with a Compact ICS (CICS). Problem is my customer does not want to hear the chatty built in Nortel Nancy voice EVER! I have it down to her just saying "The Operator is not available" I'm using gen delivery mailbox and AA with CCR Turned off

Hers what I think I need to do to get her to shut up completely so please correct me if I am wrong

1 make the operator have a real mail box 21 at extension 21, call forward no answer to the Flash DN, turn off AA and Gen Delivery Mail Box, so where I do the CFNA that's where I choose how many rings on each line ?
In feature 982 make operator available

Will that make her shut up? Please any help is appreciated

There could be a number of things that VM says.
So before I answer, give me a scenario of what happens.
i.e. - you call the main number. It rings on phone x??? etc....
Tell me the scoop of what happens and at what point it says what.

Didn't see an email notification of an answer from there like I did from here.

So NTlayoff Thank you for your help,.,.the Voice Mail System is overkill for his needs.

Retired guy who basically needs an answering machine, but, on 3 lines, and to answer each line on a different number of of rings.

He had AA Answering with a greeting in his voice then she chimed in then another greeting and she chimed in again and it went to leave message. I've set it up a number of different ways I ran out of time and had to get to another appointment so I left him with what ever was as close to what he wanted and rescheduled him Doesn't matter what it does right now, Ill make it do what ever you say if it shuts her up. Can she be silenced or is she always going to be lurking about.

Simple. 3 Cheapo answering machines on each line. Should cost about $50-60 plus setup.

Roger that

It's the ring count being different on each of the 3 lines that is the chore here....can you expand on why different ring counts?
Are these lines assigned to Appear & Ring on all sets? or mixed bag? how many rings required for each line?
Are they 3 separate companies?

The only thing I can think of since Flashtalk only has 2 Tables is to have one phone answer one line that has the longest amount of rings and each Table answer the other 2 lines with some trickery to get to a mailbox fast without the prompts.

I think of 2 answers for you.
1) Get a Call Pilot - that will do it for you.

2) Since you don't want a Call Pilot then do this.
Line 1 rings to x 221 - after 3 rings goes to VM box 221
Line 2 rings to x 222 - after 4 rings goes to VM box 222
Line 3 rings to x 223 - after 6 rings goes to VM box 223

Problem solved - no "canned Sally" to say anything - that is only if you create a Answer Prompt for each voice mail box
Of course change the number of rings for your needs before going to voice mail.
AND if you need to see all 3 lines on the phones, just make them appear only except the one that rings on that phone
And when the other phone rings they can hear it and push the line button to answer if they have to answer.

1) I already got a quote for the Call Pilot, that's going to bemy last ditch effort.

2) That's exactly what I was dreading with the lines. I cant use the General Delivery mail box either huh? or have them all go to the same box?

You can have them all go to the Gen Del MB if you want to - but not with different ring counts.
Just set up x221 (or whatever the receptionist ext is or the ext you want) to fwd on no answer x number of rings.
Just make sure no other phone has FNA set up or have everyone else as FNA with MORE rings than x221.
Set up the Gen DEL for x221.
Make sure they do a prompt for the mail box. Then no canned Sally voice.
And all lines appear AND RING on x221

You could if:

1. You do not have mailboxes behind the other phones, they will instead go to GD
or
2. Utilize the CCR

If you use 3 CCR Trees for all 3 lines then CallPilot will help because Flash only has 2 CCR Tree's where CallPilot has more.
Otherwise it does the same as the Flash or Mini when it come to answering lines.
