This is a simple questions that i am frustrated I can not figure out myself. Please don't laugh smile

We have the Inter-tel Axxess phones with system version 8.201

I am trying to remove the mailbox for two employees who recently left. Someone else deleted the mail boxes completely from the session manager but it set off an alarm (system alarm 16)on the phone saying that it could not do a delayed major reset. I also noticed that there was a message on one of the phones but sense there was no mailbox set up there was no way to retrieve that message.

I went in and enables the "force if not idle flag" it to force the major reset in the middle of the night, but when I came in this morning the alarm was still there.

I thought maybe it was confused because extensions were not connected to anything, so I went back in today and reestablished those mail boxes and just changed the mailboxes to say Vacant as I did with the description and user name. Now I need to figure out how to get those mailboxes disabled without deleting them. I want those lines to ring back to the main line or at least into the directory so that no one can leave a message on the phones.

I also need to know how to get in and get rid of that message on the phone. When I dial in from her phone the "voice mail lady" is telling me I have no new messages.

I know these should be simple things to fix and but I just can't figure it out.

Two things.

1. Are you leaving the programming software connected to the system? Here is a quick blurb on Alarm16: 016 No Delayed Major Because System Busy – The system was unable to perform a
scheduled delayed major reset because the system was not idle. The system will continue
to try to perform the delayed major reset every five minutes.

This could be caused if the system is really busy or if Database Programming is left connected.

If the “Forced Reset If Not Idle” flag in Database Programming is enabled, the system will perform the delayed major regardless if the system is idle or not.

2. I'm guessing that station with the flashing message light has been left a station-to-station message. Try pressing the MSG key once while the phone is idle/on-hook and see what the display reads. If it is from another station you can clear it by placing a call to the station that left the message or simply press the MSG key once (phone on-hook) and then press the * key.

The forced reset if not idle button was set last night. That is what I can't figure out.

I don't think the software is still connected, on the computer it is run on I exited out of (which is the only place you can set the forced reset button; when you log off), and the computer itself is turned off at night. So I can't imagine that it is still connected.

I have no idea how to figure out what is causing the system to be busy.

Thanks for help on 2. I was able to get rid of it by using feature key 368.

Your next step would be to freeze the history and pull error logs. You will find that under operations, error information.

Once you've pulled the logs you want to check them for the time when the system was set to reset and see what they reveal.
