Aloha,

My subject line says it all, really. Is it possible to program the external page port to play the music on hold (background music), in the same fashion that I can enable background music on a keyset?

My goal is to play some music on those paging speakers in the hallway, when they're not busy being used for paging.

Ours is an Axxess 11 system.

Thanks!

RLR

I think you could feed your MOH source into a mixer/amp. Put the paging input as priority so it will mute the MOH when a page is being made.
The mixer would need a line level output going to the MOH port on the KSU. The page port would go to an input on the mixer.

You would accomplish that with a Paging controller like a V-2001A that has a page input as well as a background music input. The page output would then have priority over the music.

Sounds like a tiny mixer could be the way to go.

Mahalo everyone!

Yeah...coming from the live sound world things are a bit different. A Valcom unit may be the best bet and just use a trunk port as your paging input.
