Hello,
Was hoping for some guidance on setting up an ESI 100 with a SIP8 Card using Spectrum SIP. Have been trying to get this working for a month and keep having to move the cut date. All the settings in the System have been verified by ESI Tech Support to be correct, debug and packet capture are showing incoming and outbound audio on calls, however the outbound audio ( transmit ) does not make it to the called party. We have tried this with the router firewall disabled, same result. Set up a different cabinet with a different SIP8 card, same result.
Calls go out, connect to called party, I can hear them but they cannot hear me.
Have tried hooking the SIP8 and Spectrum eSBC together outside the network, connected to a mini switch ( SIP Primary, SIP Secondary, and eSBC Lan ) same issue, no tranmit audio at called party.

Any one done a Spectrum/Charter/Time Warner SIP install, they ( Spectrum ) are being of absolutely no help. They have a document on how to set the system and we have followed it to the letter, there is a link to it below. Any Ideas?

Kahis Telcom,

All will back me up when I say it's never the providers issue until we find them with the smoking gun. Your statement debug and packet captures are showing incoming and outbound audio on calls would classify as the smoking gun.

If the packets are leaving the building with audio how can it be a ESI issue?

Technically they are not leaving the building, but are leaving the cabinet, The captures were of LAN traffic with the firewall off, the only thing between the packets and freedom is the Spectrum eSBC.

Have you tried connecting to sip trunks with ATA device or soft phone?

Thanks for the responses.
ATA use on ESI Equipment is handled in the Cabinet with actual analog ports, even the IP Server 900 has modules for analog ports instead of a network device for analog connections. ESI softphone can connect to the cabinet and has 2 way audio using intercom internally or pots lines calling out but not when utilizing the SIP trunks. It is strictly a SIP Trunk issue. I have no way to utilize the Trunks except thru the cabinet.

If the packets are carrying audio when they leave the ESI cabinet indicates to me Spectrums router is the problem.

Yep
That's the way it looks to me, but how to fix it when they say it isn't. I was hoping someone had ran into this before and knew how it was resolved. I have another of these in a couple weeks and don't have this one working yet. I guess I wonder if anyone has ever got this working. lol. ESI is unusual because they use 2 ports for SIP. The Primary handles call origination etc and the Secondary handles Media ( inbound and outbound audio ).I think they must have a setting wrong in the eSBC but I have no idea what.
