New situation. Have a customer with IP Office r 11. They are geographically so close to a state border the telco gave them a pri with the local area code in 1 state, and a couple 1fbs in the local area code in the state next door. For example, Nevada area code 702 for the pri, and Utah area code 435 for the 1fb trunks.

The thought was you pick up a phone, dial 9, 1, 435 xxx-xxxx and you would hit the Utah lines. And vice versa, you dial 9, 1, 702 xxx-xxxx and the ars would send you out over the PRI lines.

Either we aren't understanding or need some programming guidance- when we hit the 435 the ars tables take us to the Utah lines, but then user has to dial 435 again to get a call to go out (we have 10 digit dialing).

We thought about dialing 9 to hit the PRI and Nevada (and all long distance) and 8 to hit local or Utah trunks.

Any experts out there shed some light on the problem of dialing 435 to get the Utah lines, then dialing 435 again to complete a call?

Also, 2nd problem, if the 3 Utah lines are in use, and a user dial 435, can we over flow outgoing calls to the pri, a secondary call route? I thought that would be the case. Thanks in advance.

your short code would appear to be set like:
91435N (or 91435XXXXXXX)
Line group 50 (ARS TABLE)
N

it should be:
91435N (or 91435XXXXXXX)
Line group 50 (ARS TABLE)
1435N

YEs, all that you are asking is possible

I would personally keep the short code as 9N / Dial N / 50:Main

and then in 50:Main put

1435N; / Dial3K1 / 1435N / Line Group for Utah Lines
1702N; / Dial3K1 / 1702N / Line Group for PRI
(Edit: The 1702N entry isn't really even needed, as if the dialed number isn't 1435N, it will use the other entries in the ARS table, which should all be pointing to the PRI line group)

For overflow, make ARS 51:Overflow
N; / Dial3K1 / N / Line Group for PRI
and make it the Alternate Route for 5:Main
