I just setup an Axxess system Version 11.01 with a Linux EVMC. They are using Pots lines that are proviced by AT&T over a VoIP ATA. We are getting complaints that callers leaving voicemail messages only get 2 - 3 seconds of a message before they are dropped. A conversaion to a phone works fine. Internal messaging to the voicemail boxes is normal, messages can be left to the full allowable timer. AFAIK the caller hears nothing other than a click. The minimum message length is set to 1 sec.
Any ideas what is going on? Talkoff?? I remember the problem but not the remedy. Getting to old to be working on these old systems :))

I would start by running a hybrid balance test on the CO lines. From there, try the twist settings under Voice Processor / Timers & Limits.
Increasing the twist settings makes digit detection more sensitive, decreasing them makes digit detection less sensitive.
Increased sensitivity might cause talk-off, where voice is mistaken for DTMF. Increasing digit timers should correct that.

Just checked the system and the settings for those were set to unlimited. Looked at the Help and set them to default :
high to low twist (Play) 8.2 high to low twist (idle) 5.2
Low to high (play) 9.2 low to high (idle) 8.2
Will go from there
Thanks again

I would check with AT&T. There are settings they can change to duplicate a Pots line. Sounds like it see disconnect to quickly.
