I'm setting up an NEC SV8100 auto attendant with InMail for Day and Night modes using PCPRO.

Answer Schedule 1 and Answer Table 1

Day is mode 1, routing mailbox 1, dial action table 1

Night is mode 2, routing mailbox 2, dial action table 2

The dial action tables have some different options for day vs. night mode.

My question is, how can I set it up so that when we have weather related delays or closings we can give the caller that information without needing to record a message twice? I was considering adding a choice to the dial action tables, for example "for delays and closing information press 8", and pointing to an announcement mailbox. Could I use the same announcement mailbox for both dial action tables?

If yes, how do I get it to return to the appropriate - day or night - routing mailbox after the announcement so the caller can continue choosing a different option? Or will I need to use two announcement mailboxes and whoever calls in from home at 4 AM will need to record the same announcement twice?

Is there another, better way to do this?

Thanks for any suggestions.

IF your using Answer Schedule tables use Answer Schedule ovveride. You Create a Call Routing mailbox for it and record your weather greeting in there use whatever DAT you need to and then in the event of you using it you call in to the system and use a ADMIN enabled mailbox to turn on Answer schedule override. Then when your done you call back in and turn it off.

Thanks. Where I'm getting hung up is after the caller hears the weather greeting, how do I return them to the appropriate call routing mailbox depending on if the system is in day or night mode?

If you use (example) routing mailbox 005 as the override, auto attendant is going to go to 005 until answering schedule override is turned off or the override mailbox is changed. This can be done remotely using a subscriber mailbox with admin rights.

If I understand your question you can try this but it will have to be done manually at the appropriate time.

Example
override routing mailbox 005 dial action table 1, record the weather related message followed by the normal business hours options
override routing mailbox 006 dial action table 2, record the weather related message followed by the normal after hours business options.

When you return to normal business turn off the answering schedule override.

Okay, yes I believe you understand what I was asking and thanks for the explanation. Either way then, the weather greeting has to be recorded twice for it to work this way.
