Consumer or commercial application?

As a consumer, in the past when I've needed a two line phone, I would purchase the current at&t branded (manufactured by VTech) model. My favorite is the old 962 which was produced back in the 90's under a joint venture between Lucent and Philips.

Having said that, I think that the company that absorbed the old "Cortelco" catalog may still be offering something that can handle two lines.

From a reliability standpoint, I'd agree with the Vertical 28XX series of phones. The problem is that they don't offer caller ID.

I'd go with Panasonic, for 2/3/4 line sets, since they are much better about addressing the consumer-level features, like caller ID, call waiting, etc.
