Old VM went bad, setting up new IES-32. when I call ext. I get Main Greeting (990) or if I call VM pilot #. Each Mailbox chain RNA & chain busy are set to RECORD. I know I am probably leaving just one thing out. I can see the VM port light - light up when a call comes in and it answers. I am just not routing something right. Advice Please, LYLE --- P.S. Does the CTX-100 and the IES-32 (IP add.) have to be in the same similar group to work together? How do you change the IP add. of the VM back to the factory default?

I'm assuming that the old vm is also an ies32. If so, you will want to change the ip address on the new ies32 to whatever is listed in prog 801 in emanager. But there are a few other changes you'll need to make on the ies32 to make SMDI work.

I have checked loc. 801/802/803 these are set. when I call an ext. I get the main greeting (990) not the VM for that ext. When I go into a mailbox for an ext. and check messages and leave a message for another ext. it works, and message shows up in it's mailbox. What am I missing??????

Did you set the SMDI correctly to point to the IP address of the iES32 and on port 5000?
Do you have the IP address for the IP card set up correctly in the iES32?
Have you configured the channels to match the DKT ports for the VM in the CIX?

In Stratagy ES Admin you need to assign the extension numbers 51-54 to the voice port numbers and need to tell the Stratagy what is the IP address of the CIX in the system settings.Reboot the ies32 or stop and start the Stratagy service.

Isn't that what LOCATION 200 & 801 are doing? I am not seeing in IES-32 where to put in the IP Add. of the CIX? Back to my original question will the CIX IP Add. of 192.168.254.253 and VM of 192.168.1.103 work together? I wanted to know how to change the VM IP Add. back to factory of 192.168.254.252 ---- so it will work when plugging both into a hub along with a laptop with eManger and Stratagy software. If I am missing something please specify LOCATION and # to change. THANKS, LYLE

No, those IP addresses will not work together. They should be either both default 192.168.254.X or both on the 192.168.1.X subnet. They won't be able to communicate to each other. You should be able to PING both systems on your laptop at the same time.
I am assuming that the IES32 that you got already had that 192.168.1.103 IP address setup when you got it, and the CIX still has the default IP address 192.168.1.103.
Your choices will be to change the IP address of the IEs32 back to default of change the CIX to an IP address 192.168.1.253.

Have you ever used Netmeeting to connect to the IES? This could be a challenge because Netmeeting doesn't come on Windows anymre. This is on of the reasons why I have Windows XP running as a virtual machine on my Windows 10 laptop.

It's been a while, but you change the system's IP address in the Windows Network Control panel.

You still need to make your adjustments in Stratagy Admin since you still need to define the extension numbers to the ports in the Stratagy database. From the main menu go to Configuration-->Telephone System Integration. At the bottom part of the screen scroll down until you see the IP address of the CIX. Make the change. Then click the Voice Ports tab and define the extension numbers 51-54 for each of the Stratagy ports. Reboot or restart the Stratagy service. It's in the I&M manual page 11-4.

I believe that changes the Laptop's IP Add. What about the IES-32 IP Add.? Where is it buried in the Registry of the VM unit?

My IES-32 VM Unit doesn't show any more lines below (No. of milliseconds to use for Flash time=550) in the configuration - integration page of setup. In looking around if I set Interrogation Type to (CTX Proprietary) those boxes show up. I still think I need to get the IP of the VM reset to 198.162.254.252 so it communicates with the CTX which is at 192.168.254.253. My laptop is at 192.168.254.250.

If your voicemail iES-32 is not already set at the default, you change it through remotely connecting to the Windows desktop of the Stratagy. The Stratagy iES-32 has Windows NT, which is a little similar to Windows XP for changing the IP address

I checked one of my customer's systems for the specific steps

Start - Settings - Control panel
Network Icon
Prototcol Tab
TCP/IP protocol - Properties

Specify the IP address for the voicemail

When you connect to it through Netmeeting, are you using 192.168.1.103?

I am going to send you a PM with a setup guide showing screen shots of the SMDI integration needed in the iES32.

Reply to NEWTECKY --- I can get into netmeeting and the regedit of the IES-32 just don't know where to find the spot to set the IP of the VM back to factory default. My CTX and the IES-32 are not set on the same IP Add. group. CTX = 192.168.254.253 IES-32 = 192.168.1.103
Reply to CARLOS#1 -- I got the IES Supplement -- changed a couple things still not working.

The iES32 is running an embedded version of Windows NT so you have to Netmeeting into it on the 192.168.1.103 address and then go to
Start - Settings - Control panel
Network Icon
Prototcol Tab
TCP/IP protocol - Properties and set the IP address to 192.168.254.252 with subnet 255.255.255.0 and click save

This will set the new IP address and you will get disconnected from the iES32
Change your IP on the laptop and reconnect the Netmeeting on the new IP of 192.168.254.252
You will want to reboot the iES32 so that it is all working on the new IP address.

The SMDI from the CIX system will need to be set to use the 192.168.254.252 as well in P801
