Hi everyone,
I have a site with a Toshiba CTX670 with an iES32 voicemail card installed. Recently we have been unable to access mailboxes or the voicemail system itself. The pilot number is 850 but when dialed it gives a reorder tone. Accessing it by a port directly will give for example "851 extension vacant". Powering cycling the system does no good. I have deleted all voicemail extensions and re programmed them to no avail. It looks like the shutdown light is on. Is this a bad card or anyway it can be saved?

Are you able to log into it via Netmeeting?
If you are able to have a look at the event logs
If you start it with the icon on the desktop does it go starting the change to stopped?

Seen a lot of those go bad. Usually it's the hard drive failure, which is fatal. Not much you can about the old one.
FYI the amber LED stays on during the boot-up processes and will turn off when it's almost ready.

Yeah the amber LED stays on indefinitely. The company never really used the voicemail often. The site is a grocery store and they don't seem to be too concerned about it. There is talks of them upgrading the phone system anyway so I guess it's not a big concern right now.

I was talking to a Toshiba dealer earlier today and he said a lot of voicemail cards go bad after 5-10 years or so? I had a Contact-DK go bad a few months back. Is there a Toshiba voicemail card that's been known to last more than that or is built better?

Could be the HDD is dead and therefore the OS will not even boot up so no connection to the desktop
That is why you need to Netmeeting into the OS to see what is happening during the startup of the iES32 software.

The LVMU card is good and been really reliable compared to the Tis16 or iES32

I will say that I don't think I have seen an LVMU or GVMU VM completely fail yet.
IES16 with a flash drive is more reliable than the IES32 with a HD, but I have seen one of those fail as well.

We replaced all Teleco Tis16 VM's as they had a massive recall.
The iES32 was only used for customers requiring VM to email in the early days, once the Strata Messaging (LUCA) became available this was used in preference to the iES32.
