Why does this forum look different?
I remember this having more of a gray look to it.

Software upgrade since you last probably visited. At bottom of main page is a box that says something like UBB77 or such. You can toggle options to change screen settings

There are additional theme/styles that could be added to select from.
But in any case you can temporarily change the theme/style setting at the selection on the bottom of the page or while logged in goto your preferences and change it permanently.
There is no such thing as stupid questions.

It really looks different, I used to read this forum a lot before and finally decided to join. Had a lot of free time in my property in Greece due to the virus issues and us all being stuck at our homes. But forum is still interesting and I always learn a lot of new things here
