Hiya! I have a 7400 running 4.98 with a second cabinet. Full gambit of IP phones, Softphones, digital and analogue going. This morning when folks came into work all the digital phones were showing "Ver..." on the screen. We did a power cycle and things came up just fine. Date was even good. Trying to track down what may have caused it to lock up. There is nothing in the alarm history and the activity log in the SVMI20i shows the last processed call on Friday afternoon. (the system is on auto attendant for all calls, so this is a bit suspect, I would have thought something to have happened between Friday afternoon and today.)

Am i looking at a power supply starting to fail? Would you recommend a per-emptive replacement? Is there anywhere else I can look for evidence of a cause for this?

Thanks in advance

I had a similar issue, but not on a 7xxx system but on a OS500 with only 1 digital phone behaving this way.
Disconnecting and reconnecting, restart of DLI card, port clear - none of them worked, phone would stay in "Version.." screen and connection status showed as "none" (disconnected).
I could not find any error messages on the system or any other indicator of what happened.

The only thing that resolved it was a full system restart. Have not had any issues since.

Is anyone using some sort of monitoring software that could alert if the system went down?
Obviously the system can't because it's not active. I was thinking maybe something that realizes when the smdr stops for too long...
