I have an application which requires 2 page zones.. it used to be 1 page zone, a new amp was installed and an additional key set was added with the speaker disconnected and speaker wire running to the new amplifier through the microphone input.

I programmed a new Page Zone pointed to the new page phone. oOther than cutting the speaker and adding a line to the amp is there any other mod needed for the page phone or programming of the phone to be used for the paging application?

I added a 600 ohm balancing transformer between the speaker line and mic input. When a page is sent the audio is distorted on the page, the music is clean on all the speakers, just distorted on a page to the new amp, if I check the audio at the mike plug tip the audio is clear.. any ideas would be appreciated...

When we add a new page zone, we usually do it through a CO-port. The only time we use a phone's speaker is for loudspeaker ringing.

Correction the system is ver 10 not ver 5

The system has 3 parts,
1: Valcom speakers which are paged from the CPC Page port, these go to outside horns,

then there is a one phone which has the speaker cut and is inputted to the 1st amplifier on the mic input, this was originally one zone which feeds about 50 speakers.This zone works correctly with clean audio for music and paging.

The new zone added..We cut the speaker line between the 1st speaker zone and installed a new amplifier for music and paging.. the new zones music works correctly and the audio is clear but paging is garbled..

I was wondering if there were any other mods needed to the phone so it works correctly?

Try using an aux input on the amplifier instead of a mic input.
