We have a situation where we are trying to use an analog emergency call station that only has ethernet connection available.

The idea is to use a ATA adapter to provide the analog input.

Never used an ATA adapter before.

Do I need one just at the device or one at the device and one at the Toshiba CIX 670?

Would the port be configured as a SIP port or could it be configured as a different port type?

You can connect a SIP ATA directly to the Toshiba if you have an IP endpoint license and an MIPU card installed in the CIX. I think most SIP ATAs would be able to connect to the Toshiba system. You would program them just like any SIP phone.

I don't know your level of experience with SIP phones or Toshiba. Sometimes SIP can be frustrating if you have not done it before, especially with Toshiba.

Wireshark is your friend when trying to configure anything using SIP.

Obviously if you are unfamiliar with configuring/diagnosing SIP equipment then you are unlikely to understand Wireshark.
