I have an extension (v 8.224) that has a secondary extension, with 2 different DIDs pointed at it. The second extension, when called, doesn't ring. I've tried unforwarding the primary extension, but that isnt the problem. Does anyone have a starting place for me to trouble shoot?

Is the primary extension being called from the outside or as an intercom call? Secondary call keys don’t work on intercom calls.

If it is an outside call, check the programming of the secondary call key. You can specify the number of calls in progress before the secondary station will ring. Maybe the threshold is too high; set it to 1 to ring on all calls. If it’s set at zero, the secondary station will never ring.

That's the odd thing. It will ring on an IC call, but to straight to VM on an outside call. Secondary programming set to 1.

Odd; maybe it’s a forward path issue. You could turn off the flag for system forwarding on the primary extension and see what happens. Then dig into the forward paths.

A secondary call key is just that. It duplicates the ringing of a call key on the primary station. If the primary station doesn’t ring, the secondary one won’t ring either.

IC calls will ring the secondary phone, but you must remove the IC button from the primary extension.
