just wondering if anyone one has any new updates on this Law /ACT
I'm hearing a lot of different things
a lot of hosted sales people are telling potential customers that they must comply to giving the location of the phone (room # ) and also telling schools that they need phones in every class room whether they currently have them or not
can this be done on an SV9100 with Comcast PRI Trunks (CP 10/20)
I know theirs still a lot of phone systems out their Nortel ICS that don't comply to Kari's law
I heard that it only works on SIP Trunks
Thanks

There is a grandfather clause. Comcast is supposed to be able to do this through the customer portal for E911 on their PRI's. Sometimes a customer has to request this to show. SV9100 CP20 supports E911 via sip trunks. Kari's Law can be accomplished on most if not all PBX systems with some programming and thinking outside the box. We had some facilities on the Tadiran that used Proctor boxes via E&M that had a 911 CAMA circuit that sent all the data on the calls to the 911 center. NEC/Nitsuko i-series supports Kari's law right out of the box and always has.
