We currently have an Axxess system running 11.01 software, digital keysets and an IPRC for linking to a system at an external site. I have been asked to place several conference phones, and am looking to implement a VoIP-based solution. I will be purchasing the required licensing for the IPRC to allow 4 VoIP endpoints, but was wondering about what actual conference phones to use. I would be interested in hearing opinions and good/bad points about various units based on others' experiences. I have used Polycom units in the past, and was pleased with them. Also, is there anything else that would be required that I am missing in this setup? Thank you!

There are no aftermarket VOIP conference phone compatible with the Inter-Tel/Mitel platform. If you have an SLC in the Axxess, you can use any aftermarket analog phone. Communication between your PBXs are not dependent upon the type of endpoint used. If you do not have a PBX at the other location, you are left with the desktop endpoints from Mitel.

If it has to be IP you could use an IP SLA to a analog phone.... just a thought Randy

Thanks for the info. We have two SLC16 (550.2116 V) that were taken out of the system years back...I have no experience with these cards at all. Does that external power connector attach to one of the system PS's? We have a 4-box system, using 3x 550.0110 and 1x 550.0131 power supplies. Also, what is the wiring on these cards? I assume just 16x single pairs on the amphenol? I have heard people suggest that the conference phone be set up as a "house phone". That's no problem, but does that still allow integration with other system (digital) phones, such as transfers, etc.? Thank you so much for the help!
