I am trying to determine what the part number of this connector which is very close to an RJ45 could be.

It has two keys, one on the side, and another in the center of the contact area.

Seems it has a maximum of 6 contacts though it is the same dimensions as a standard RJ45 if two contacts were omitted from the center to make room for one of the keys.

Molded into three of the four round spots is 5PV, which doesn't seem to follow the standard RJ45 designation.

While the only plug I have is a termination connector molded with black colored plastic, I have done my best to make the images viewable.

This connector is found on a piece of IBM equipment from 1984. It is referred to as the model 6731.

A quick search shows the device to be an accessory for an IBM Selectric typewriter that would allow a typist to store a document on a 5 inch floppy. It's probably a proprietary IBM configuration.

If the information you found is from the typewriterdatabase, that is the information I recently shared.

I thought it might be a standard alternate type connector rather than a "proprietary designed" which IBM seems to love so much.

I can see why it would require the key. You wouldn't want someone plugging a 10 Base-T modular connector into the back of the IBM 85/95 Electronic Typewriter, or the 6731. Who knows what might happen.... Bzzzzzz *POOF!*
