We've run into a few TVM200 voicemails that have died in the last year. There was some time to spare this week so we messed around with a failed unit on our test bench. It turned out the HDD (which is mounted on a SATA to IDE adapter card) wasn't spinning. We hacked something together to provide power from an external power supply and viola! - the unit booted up.
I guess this could be an emergency workaround for someone in the field...

I wonder if one of those gadgets that allows you to mirror two identical drives would work quickly? That would be a much faster way to back up an existing system of any type rather than using their utilities that often connect via a laptop and serial or LAN connection between them.

I believe we tested a drive that we had mirrored using one of those docking stations and it worked fine.
