I just got a call from an existing IP OFFICE client. System is down after an extended power failure..
On the remote, the VM box was active and I can start the Manager software but it cannot connect to the control unit.
I can't even PING the control unit address. Onsite, I rechecked the wiring is still intact and there are some unused red station ports showing.
I reset the power. Then pulled both station cards then replaced 1 card at a time, killing the power in between swaps..
I got nothing.
At this point, I believe I need a new control unit but although I've worked on this system for years I've never done a fresh install and unfamiliar with the licensing issues.
It is presently running 9.1.600
Can this s be as easy as: replace control unit, move both cards to the new carrier swap the SD card reconnect the cables power up and restore the last configuration file? (I have one from 11/30/2024 YAY! )
Or will there be a licensing issue? I remember needing to upgrade a system to 9.1 years ago but not sure THIS was the place.
Also I would like a recommendation of where I can purchase a control unit that has good support?
Thanks for your help!

Have you tried connecting to the control unit with all your station cards removed? I had a situation once where a bad station card stopped everything from happening.
All licensing is referenced to the SD card, so moving it to another control unit isn't a big issue.
Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.

Sounds like a bad 500v2 chassis - the power supplies are known to die in older cabinets.

Yes. I rolled both cards out individually but STILL can't Ping the address.
But the one thing I DIDN'T do was to disconnect the interconnecting CAT5's. between cabinets.
Thanks for the SD/LICENSING clarification. So I can just buy any IPO500 control unit and swap out the cards etc?

Make sure that you pull the SD card and swap that as well. Also may want to grab the config off the SD card so you have the licenses.
