Hi everyone,

Not really sure if this is possible or if I'll just need to delete and recreate the different devices and settings, but here is what I'm looking for.

Intertel Axxess 9.1 system using DB Studio.

I currently have a phone x501 with VM that needs to be migrated to an extension for VM only. I would want to keep the greetings, messages, etc associated with this extension/vmbox intact. I'd then like to assign the phone it's currently assigned to a new number and vmbox.

The important part here is getting the current extension to a VM only spot(meaning no physical device associated with it) with all settings intact.

I know this is rambling so let me know if you need clarification on this.
Thanks.

Eddy

Delete the extension and re-create it as a phantom and re-associate it to the mailbox. Give the phantom a forwarding path that immediately forwards to voicemail. You can then create a new extension on the old circuit with a voice mail box.

Another option, if you have an open keyset port - use your admin phone to do a station swap. Swap ext. 501 with an open port, and use the new port for the physical phone. Change the forward path on 501 to immediate forward to voice mail. Programming, including any DIDs, will remain in place.

I’ve got a couple of these hanging out there that I’ll clean them up someday if I need the ports.
