Axxess v9 (2), Mitel 5000 (3)
*** AND ***
Any version of Mitel 3000 series - possible?
We have two Axxess systems and three Mitel 5000s (one international (UK)) already working well, but we are told we can't get any more 5000s.
We need to put a compatible system in Brazil.
Anyone aware of any options here?
TIA

Who told you, you can't get any more 5000's out of curiosity? Was that a company decision or a Mitel decision due to compatibility issues?

Unfortunately doing relay here, I'm being told by my boss that that is what our vendor told him. I may have to contact directly, but that PO's my boss.
Mitel has a vendor in Brazil, at least according to their directory.
The issue as presented to me is they can't get or put a 5000 in Brazil, and if we put a 3000 in we won't have transparency with our existing systems.
We (Birmingham AL) are the 'hub'/'center', with an Axxess v9 (getting ready to go to v11 in January).
We have another connected Axxess in Ohio, and three Mitels - Chicago, Kansas and Bristol UK.
New office in Brazil, requiring new everything, they are moving into a new office so we'll be building from the ground up re: Network & Phone System.
As I have been told, but don't know, the 3000 can't work with Axxess and 5000s, which makes no sense to me.
Any guidance/explanation appreciated.

:p

The 3000 has no embedded networking capability w\ the other legacy Inter-Tel gear. It probably never will. Mitel is pretty high on the 5000. They have never had a highly capable telephony platform before and have really kept the resource dollars high. In a perfect world the 3300 would adopt the 5000 programming and capability interface with enterprise features such as Class of Service and tenanting but that's never gonna happen as Mitel is just too invested in the 200\2000\3300 customer base. The moral here is that your company should just buy a 5000 in the states and ship it to Brazil. The 5000 aint goin' nowhere.

Thanks, I'll try to hit them with that and see if they hit back.

The 3000 can accept T1 E&M trunks. Depending on how much transparency you want, the 3000 should work without networking. Atlanta could call Brazil to the desktop with an access code and extension numbers and Brazil could call Atlanta over the T1. You couldn't have centralized voicemail, and auto attendant may not transfer calls to Brazil. Again, it depends on what you need.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
