Has anyone used this device? I have two of the analog devices and they've been rock solid. The idea of using an IP based device would work out really well for our main location. I'm assuming the fax would have to be directed to a SIP trunk routed to this device?

I'm reviving this thread. I have a signed PO for the unit. I have assurances from Multitech that it will work, but no documentation. They tell me to use SIP trunks. I've not used SIP trunking. Has anyone out there configured this system, or know how it would be done?

You will need a analog voice mail license or it will not work. Configuration seems really weird but follow the steps outlined and it will work.

It will work... I use one here at our location. We have legacy Axxess nodes networked in with new HX's and the MultiTech FaxFinder. It's sweet... it has a desktop client you can use to send faxes.. as well as a webpage GUI. Fax to email was a little tricky to figure out but it works great.

Goodtogo, thank you for the reply. I already have two faxfinders connected to 5000s via SLCs. Specifically, I need to know how the IP model of faxfinder connects to the 5000. The Multitech sales rep has told me it can work with SIP trunks, but he refuses to give out any details until the documentation has been approved by Mitel. I know there are users out there with the IP faxfinder.

Hello everyone. I'm reaching desperation mode here. I have a FaxFinder FF240-IP. Multitech doesn't have any real documentation regarding connection to the 5000. They have sent me some screenshots of PBX programming, but no explanations. Their configuration reroutes inbound calls to the FF240 via SIP trunks. I can get the calls to route to the SIP trunks, but the two devices are not communicating. The calls just stall. Has anyone worked with these systems?

Also, the FaxFinder is not communicating with the 5600. It appears that the 5600 is not listening on port 5060. I have enabled listening (system\ip settings\advanced settings) and set the listening port to 5060 (system\ip settings). But SIP invites show as Port Unavailable in a capture.

We have progress. The 5600 and faxfinder are communicating. However, it all shuts down when T.38 begins. The PBX says the requested port is unavailable. Is Mitel using non standard ports for T.38? If so, is there a way to change the port used?
