I have owned the partner system for about 3 years. In the last month two phones just stopped working- to dial tone no light etc. (the lines are ok - other phones work on them) I am a bit confused and upset - are these phones just designed to break - they are solid state - no moving parts what gives. HELP!!!

Ashley, as a small office system the Partner systems are pretty "bullet proof"
This doesn't mean they are not susceptible to
power spikes, lightning or abuse. are you sure that the system (or at least the phones)
were new and not Refurbed.? Any chance something was spilled in these particular sets?
Two sets within a month off different ports does seem unusaual. Is there anything at all you can think of that would make these stations stand out? IE: location, Temp.,
how the lines are ran. Any parallel connections? I can give you a couple of places to send these units to get repaired if you like. If we can find out what's wrong with these sets it might help
as far as what to look for.

Gemini is right as a rule the partner system and phones are very strong. I might want to add to his post and say that you might want to check and see if maybe the line cords are good, as some time they get pulled and will cause the same type of problem.

as everyone said, the partner system is a good durable system, on occasion a port in a card may go bad, i have seen the problem then cascade down the card, you might check and see if the ports are on the same card, if so your best bet is to probably get a replacement or get it repaired. lots of places will be able to help you with used, refub, or new partner equipment.

It is winter season (static season) and static can blow out the phones.

The MLS series do have some problems with their polly pads going out, you can either clean them or replace em. Thats the only problem I know of on them.
