If you are using single zone paging you can have it come over your speakers. If you have a manual it's on page 3-36. That shows you how to hook it up.

Unfortunately, I don't have any manuals at all. I'm flying blind but I do have a little knowledge of SPM which is used for programming the system. Any help would be appreciated.

Nope, this doesn't do anything.

It's a AT&T Legend system. Cards include the main processor card, 1-408 card, 1-400 card, 1-008 card and 1-012 card. The music comes into the system on the 400 card from a AT&T model KS-23395L3 which is plugged into a radio. Our music-on-hold works just fine. I'm just wondering if we are able to use this for background music as well. Any help is appreciated

Gutch - No, on a Legend you can't get Background Music through the telephones. However, you could split the Music On Hold source and send it into another input of an overhead loudspeaker system. Not what you wanted to hear, I'm sure.

As far as Nancy Jo goes, she never told us what type of control unit her Merlin phones are connected to, so that question is still up in the air.

Well I know this thread is quite dated however it didn't seem to answer the model type and I may be able to shed some light here... as well as the need to expand on the request.

The 'star' codes provided above are functional only in admin programming mode and will turn on/up/down/off the music-on-hold over all. This is indicative of the Merlin 820 system.

I have a customer with an 820D2 (plus) system using Bis-10 hand sets and am trying to determine if there is any way to enable back ground music to the speaker of the handsets themselves. For the life of me I can't understand who would have considered that back ground music should only be on the paging speaker and provide no ability to adjust volume at the hand set or to turn it off when a call is being made.

Hope someone can help here.

Thanks

Thanks much for any assitance provide.
