Original phones 2 - line ATT400 AND ATT200 , refurbished LUCENT 200 sent back from ATT repair. No one knows what system this actually is but I know it does not support music on hold. 2 line in upto 6 stations out box only says ATT Model 206 Problem: Phone works for about 10 minutes then gives loud tone (like stuck key) every time off-hook. Swapped out 3 different phones same reseult. Would appreciate any input. Thanks, PBS

Not familar with these phones. Describe your control unit. You refer to a legend 200; do you have a merlin legend. Is it only one ext. that you are having this trouble on?

Are these buy chance two line phones that work with out a KSU? I also have never heard of them. If so then that would be your problem.

It sounds like he has an old partner. He mentions 206 and a 200 and a 400 (all cards for a partner) Does it look like this link

Thats what I was thinking, If it is a 206 card and a 400 then change your phones to ports that are not being used and see if the problem happens there also. If it does then you might have a bad 206 module. Remember that the 400 and the 200 are for lines only not stations you will have to use spare ports on the bottom of the 206.
