Key voice mail works with many different systems. As far as I know they are doing fine, they got into a little, well huge slump but they are coming back on track.

You could try the Brick mail but I haven't seen one work yet.
You could also go with an Octel but you said you didn't like Avaya's mail.

Mitch, I don't think that Comdial is sinking, but their sales, as most other manufacturers, is in a bad slump.

A Key Voice (Comdial) 2 or 4 port brick will work great with a partner system, have several of them installed, let me know if you have any questions. (I'm a "key voice dealer", if we need any tech support)

Key voice is all I put on my Avaya/Lucent products. They work great. I am a little gun shy on the bricks as I have had a couple go bad that were just out of warranty, but it sounds like the other guys have had better luck. The PC based Key Voice are great, that is what we use. We sell refurbed ones, so we can give you a better deal than brand new. We can configure about any size you need.
