No need to pay [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]. Avaya has what you need already on their public website.

Start by downloading winspm2.exe from ftp://ftp.avaya.com/incoming/Up1cku9/tsoweb/legend/ . It will error out (i.e., "insert disk 2"), but if you save what it installed, you'll be able to upgrade it to whatever version you like with the "patches" on that site. Apply all patches in proper order to achieve the version you need.

Ok. I got everything installed, and was able to try it out today onsite. Problem is I could not get the thing to connect.

I had a veteran walking me through everything over the phone. In fact he was able to connect to the system from across the country remotely.

Set up a default account with local connect *10 to an 012 port to my modem. Configured the modem for 1200 and disabled all the flow control stuff. Hit connect and heard the line go off hook and dial *10, heard the modem, but did not get any handshaking tones. Message came back saying "No Answer trying again..."
WinXP
WinSPM 8.0

The tech support guy thought that the 012 ports were "too hot" for the modem in my machine!?

Whats the trick here?

A loop current regulator will help with high loop current problems with modems.

If you have a 355AF adapter, cable and it is pugged into the Admin port on the processor card, you should be 90% of the way to connecting.

If you had someone dial into the system from another site, set up you software to connect through dial up for now until you figure out your connection problem. Once your into the system, do a report on the entire system and either save it to disk or to your computer and print it out. This way you can check the parameters for connection.

Good Luck

Thanks for your help.

I wish I had an adapter. Anyone know where I could get one?

The post about this subject on may 23rd may be of interest to you. Someone posted the pinout of the adapter there. I have not tried to make one. I suggest you read the posts and decide for yourself.
Good Luck
