I need to set up SMDR on a Definity G3 system. I am reading the documentation on CDRU which looks like SMDR output, but it says that you need to login as root in order to set up. Is there a default password for this and is this what I want. I have set up SMDR many time on Samsung to a SIM and out to a PC with a third party software package installed to manipulate the data. Is the proceedure simular on the Definity. Any advise would be helpful. Thanks.

Depending in the version of the G3, if it is a newer version (v8 or above), go to the "display system cdr" screen. The primary output should be "teleseer", and depending on whether you have a data mod hooked up to a digital phone, then you can connect your pc with 3rd party software to the serial connection on the data mod. Hope this helps, if you need more info, I will try and help more.

Thanks for your reply. I actually got the system to send the CDR output to the J3 connector off of the processor and could display it using Hyperterminal. What software would you suggest for the data processing. I have used Callware and am not a big fan of it. I appreciate your time.

I use Tapit software from a company called Tribase Systems. Their web site has a pretty good demo, www.trisys.com and click on the TAPIT sign, then click on the demo. It retails for around $2,000.00 but if you become a dealer, you can get it for about a third the cost. It's also compatible with most Windows based PC's.

I have contacted one of the sales reps for the Tapit software, and they are sending me a demo. Thanks for the advise.
