I have a Partner ACS R6.0 installed and running and have recently installed the Partner VS 4.0 for voicemail. Everything seems to be running fine except the record-a-call feature. I was told this would work as long as I had a 4- or 6-port version of VS voicemail. I prgrammed a button on my 18d (feature 24) then during a call I press the button and the green active light comes on for about two seconds, then goes red and says "goodbye". I can't seem to find any documentation on this feature (I must have flipped through all 277 pages of the pdf manual from Avaya's website). If I've set this up wrong would someone clue me in to the correct way? Any advice would be appreciated.

Please complete your profile, it helps the installers and moderators understand what level of support you need. End users generally need more information then a tech certified on some other system for example. You will get a faster, clearer response, if you provide the profile information. mark

Sorry. The company I work for is the end user. I am neither a certified phone system installer nor a technician. They had an old System 25 finally fail about 2 weeks ago and found a good deal on a Partner ACS system online and asked me to install it. I installed it along with the PC voicemail card that came with it. Everything was working fine. Then, after hearing of some of the extra features in the Partner VS (outcalling, record-a-call, etc) they purchased a refurbished Partner VS R4.0 and again asked me to install it. It is now installed and everything is working but I can't seem to get the record-a-call feature to work and I have been unable to find any documentation on the feature. Other than this brief experience with the Partner ACS, I have done some wiring for new phones in the office. That is the extent of my phone system career. ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/smile.gif) Hopefully this background will give someone a good reference level to talk to me on. I'm really just wondering if anyone has ever set this record-a-call feature up and what procedures they followed to do so. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

You need VS5 or Messaging 1,6,7. VS4 doesn't support recod-a-call
