hello all techs. i have a customer with a partner acs and an acs carrier. all slots are taken but the last one. i attempted to put a 206 r2 card in but it wont completely seat. a little less than 1/8 inch from seating and it doesnt light. even keeps the others from operating. i tried 2 card and both wouldnt go all the way in. is it tricky to get the older cards to seat in the acs carriers. thanks dave

IMHO, Partner cabinets are of poor design. Sometimes it is tricky to get all of the cards to seat properly. Also, the poor heat dissipation is evident, look at the color of the cards. Just keep trying to seat that card, it will go....

I thought you said that your system was down...

I actually had the same problem. I ended up looking at where the power plug is on the card and found that some of the holes where the wrong shape to plug in to the connector. You might want to look at that.

check the connector, sometimes excess plastic / flash gets caught in there and will prevent a good seat!

Yes look at the power plug-in most of the time you will see the plastic bent and stopping the module from seating all the way in, as for the heating problem mentioned above leave the cover off and it will run much cooler. We give the customer the choice to leave it off or on and after telling them about the heating they usually have us leave it off.
