Right now we have a system that says R6 V11.

If I take the sticker off it says Processor R3.

I want to add caller ID capability and have been told it takes R7 capability.

Do I have to buy a new card, and if so will a Processor CKE3 R7 V12 suffice?

What does it all mean anyway? Why are there processors named CKE3, CKE4, and CKE5 and V7?

Can anyone clarify this?

Thanks.

Yes, a Legend R7 CKE 3 V12 will support caller ID (in fact that's what I run at home)

Any legend R7 (CKE 3, 4, etc) processor supports called ID, but in order to get the Call ID information on your MLX phones you must have a 408 GS/LS ID MLX card. Caller ID is not supported on analog (ATL) or single line phones.

The CKE number just indicates the processor speed. For smaller systems CKE 3 should be fine. I think there was another post before that discussed the CKE differences in more detail.

when I say single line phones I mean regular analog devices connected to a 016 card.
