We took a power hit yestertday and the VMS would not answer. After a few hours of work (before I found this forum and my well meaning co-worker did a toal reset on the phone system and lost all the button programming on all the phones) I have the calls being answeed by the Automated Attendant after 2 ring that we don't hear except on extensions 16 and 23. Can anyone help me with this? A few other details. 18 extensions, 4 mail ports 30-33, 5 incoming lines.

Thanks

Probably not. Looks like your problems are beyond a simple fix. Very likely that the memory battery in your processor has died, that's why you lost the programming to begin with when the power failed. The battery is not customer replaceable and if done should be handled by a repair facility. It is possible that there are other issues as indicated by only x16 and 23 ringing. This should not be the case when the system is defaulted.

It very well may be time to replace the processor or preferably upgrade to an ACS. Suggest you contact an Avaya dealer in your area who can check your system and give you your options as well as handle the programming.

Hi,

Sorry about the delay- we are getting ready for an ISO 17025 audit.

Anyway, I have the manual that came with the partner II system, its a white book about an inch thick. Is that the programming book?
