I have a Partner ACS Rel 7 and Partner Messaging Rel 7.
Can I set up a standard phone on one of the 9 extensions with the following properties?
A caller is directed to the extension by pressing the extension number in response to the menu instruction. This of course I know how to do. From here on I don't.
If the extension is not busy the extension will ring until it is either answered or the caller hangs up.
If the extension is busy the caller will be notified by a message or a busy signal.
Thank you. Pete Gerster

"If the extension is not busy the extension will ring until it is either answered or the caller hangs up."
You can do this, by making a "Transfer-Only" mailbox for the extension, NOT giving it VMS Cover, and setting the "Transfer Return Rings" in #105 to 0 (no return, and remember that it is a global setting)
"If the extension is busy the caller will be notified by a message or a busy signal."
This one is a "NO", as the transferred call will simply ring at the extension as another call.
You might want to try, and I have not tested this, using a selector code to transfer to one of the calling groups, such as 72, 73, or 74, and put the extension as the only member of the group. (Remeber to make the Transfer-Only mailbox for the group). Don't know if the AA will treat the call differently when the call is sent to a busy group.
