I have just been moved into a different building. They went thru a great deal of trouble to make sure I have station 10 at my desk. I am without a doubt the busiest person in the building (research and design). I expect that I got this phone (34D) on purpose. Everyone else has Partner 18s. I suppose they are expecting me to learn the system (which I have thanks to your quick user's guide) and maintain it. I have set the phone up to work perfectly as I want it to but have noticed that even though it is set up as extension 10, when I select "Feature 00" it says that it is extension 14. How can I tell this phone that it is extension 10? OR,,, is this of no consequence at all?

If it was working "Just Fine" - why did you try to fix it?

welcome ouxly40

You might notice that you have asked a new question as an add on to a 3 year old thread. Even though you are new to us feel free to open a new topic with other questions.

Now as far as your situation, if your 34D states it is Ext 14 then it is Ext 14 and will be until some physical changes in wiring cross connects are made at the system end. In other words making your location Ext 10 is a physical change instead of a programming change. It should be quite simple for the phone tech your business uses to accomplish.

Is there still a phone located where your 34D came from?

You are ext.14,to change would need to swap plugs at system.Should intercom 10 and see what phone rings. The main reception phone is what we normally use for 10 as it equals 0 when dialed.

It is extension 14. Is it of any consequence? You tell me. I think if extension numbers were important to your organization you would know by now. You can relax in knowing that you will not be doing any system programming or be responsible for night service.

I tell my customers that I don't put extension numbers on phones so I can track their migration routes. frown If a phone gets moved the extension doesn't move with it unless physical changes are made to the wiring also.

I beleive that you are supposing alot. Maybe you are busy and they wanted you to have a larger phone, so they gave you the 34D from extension 10.

Just change the label to read extension 14, and all will be well.
