I am looking for the best way to accomplish the following: If a caller calls in during off hours, auto attendant picks up giving the call the option to transfer and leave a message for a particular user of press "X" for emergencies and be transfered to an external live answering service. I am looking to put in either a Release 6 or Release 7 ACS and Voice mail. Which voice mail option will allow me to do the above and transfer calls off-site to an emergency answering service?

Thanks

With centrex on your line you can use a selector code with VS5 and the messaging units, or you can use Remote call Forwarding from a station with the ACS R6 and 7

So if I set up a station with no physical phone it will allow me to remote call forward it? That would be easy since I can have the PC Card Voice Mail auto attendanet rout the call to that station which is remote call forwarded.

Yes that will work, you will have to set a unused port with a SL set then you can unplug the set if you want. Keep in mind it will use 2 lines to forward, like a conf call.

Also if you want further help you will need to fill out your profile, as these guys like to know who they are talking to.

Note: Per the Partner manual, Night Service calls cannot be remote call forwarded.

BW Telecom, you are correct but he won't be trans a Night Service group he will be comming off a selector code to a station then out to the cell so it will work fine in day or night.

Howdy!

Just found this site as I was working with an issue related to this very same issue:

Quote
<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">So if I set up a station with no physical phone it will allow me to remote call forward it? That would be easy since I can have the PC Card Voice Mail auto attendanet rout the call to that station which is remote call forwarded.</font>

We have two users who now work from home. We have the Remote Call Forwarding programmed for their extensions, but it only seems to work if there is a phone plugged in. For example, I have a button programmed for the extension, and I can turn on the Remote Call Forwarding. However, if I unplug the phone and then plug it back in, the button is turned off. This is on an ACS Release 7 system.

Ultimately, we don't want them to have physical extensions, since they don't work here now, and their offices are used by new employees. Is there any trick to keeping this function "On" even if there is no phone or physical port?

Thanks,
Jay

BTTT...

Anybody have any ideas on this? Is it possible to program the extension from Ext 10 instead of using a button on the phone? I haven't been able to find any hints on the web, and the Documentation CD doesn't address the issue of having a physical extension.

Thanks,
Jay

If you don't want them to have a physical telephone use a single line to program it then unplug the single line and it will keep on forwarding as the single line set uses a code and not a button, I set them up all the time for customers. It's all right there in the manual.

Also would you please fill out your profile so we know who we are helping.
