Need help: I have a Merlin Legend 7.0 with merlin messaging voicemail. I would like to have the AA transfer a call at night to an extension that is remote call forwarded. No matter what I do I can't get the call to transfer if the ext. is fowarded. Does MM do a blind transfer? or is there a way to make it do one?

When the voice mail ports were put into the group and set as "Integrated VMI", they were automatically outward restricted, and their FRLs were set to 0. Go to the Extensions menu, look for Restrictions, set each to Unrestricted, then look for FRL, set each to 3.

I've tried that with no success. All VM ports are unrestricted and have an FRL of 3. It doesn't seem to matter what I do with this switch. It seems to see the forwarded ext. as busy and route the call to the attd. Which would lead me to believe that it is not performing a blind transfer. And I don't know of a place in MM programming to change that. Thanks for any help this one is really a bugger.

Yes, I have no trouble forwarding the station , it's the transfer from MM that is the problem.

Are you using Night Service with exclusion?
Only other thing I can think of is to print the voice mail ports, and see if anything pops out.
Does the extension in question have a Transfer-Only mailbox or a regular mailbox created for it. If transfer restrictions are on in the Merlin Messaging, you won't be able to transfrer out to it with-out one or the other.

I took the transfer restrictions off MM. And when I transfer to the extension when it is not forwarded it goes directly there. But once I RCF the ext it rings directly to the attd. I appreciate the help but I'm afraid that Avaya might have some sort built in restriction for tranfer to an RCF ext. but I'll be darned if I can find it in the manual.

David, I do it all the time. But if there is some type of restriction on the voice mail port, it will not allow a transfer to the forwarded extension. Do a print of the voice mail ports, and the night service, and send it to my email link in the bio above.
