Hi, new to the forum here and hope you guys can be of some help for me.
I've inherited a project to finish that's been ongoing for the past year. I'm an IT guy and have very limited knowledge of the telephony world.
Anyways, here's the setup. We have a Brooktrout TR114+P2C PCI Analog faxserver board. This has a two channel one LOOP START and one analog DID, only has one port. No cables or manuals came with the board when it was ordered, we just got the power supply for it last week. We have an Avaya Definity G3 phone system that the faxserver board is sitting behind. And I am using the GFI Faxmaker software with the board.
I got the phone guys to give me an analog line with 5 numbers assigned to it, I do not know the specifics or setup of how the line was created. Anyways, I only have a regular 2-pair phone cable connected to from the line to the faxserver board.
I have the GFI Faxmaker software and drivers setup properly (I think). Everytime I dial the number to call or fax to the faxserver board, I get a busy signal. But if I hook it up to an analog phone and call it, it goes through. That's the first problem, I don't know if it could be the card itself something to do with the line. Secondly does anyone know if I can use the G3 PBX to send a DID or DTMF signal to the card over the analog line, the phone guys did not know how this would be done if possible.
If anyone can give me any more insight into the problem I will be greatly appreciative. And if anyone needs any more details on the problem, just let me know.
Thanks
