We switched out the Old Messaging Unit. We put in a new one, and it was working OK for a while. But the messages keep disappearing, especially on one extension. Is there anything else that I should be looking for? Could it be the PC Card?

there was a problem with the 2.0 or 2.5. Messages not being sent in a timely fashion, messaging cutting off users, and messages being lost. We had this and had to upgrade the hardware to a 3.0. Fixed the problem so far.

In March, we replaced the 2.0 messaging unit another 2.0 Unit. Things seemed to be okay for a while. Then messages started going bye bye again. About a month ago, we upgraded to Messaging 2.5. Things were okay until this morning. One one extension, messages started disappearing again. Is it the actual Messaging Unit, or could it be something else.
Thanks.

So, a year after the Merlin Messaging was replaced, the tale of the missing voice mails has returned. It happens specifically for one extension. No other extensions experience this issue, just one. The caller will call and leave a voice mail. Several hours later, when the mailbox is checked, the message is not longer there? We've upgraded to v2.5 and the problem has come back again. Any other thoughts? Thanks.....

Any chance that the voicemail card sits adjacent to a DS1? With the early Legends, a sticky-backed foil paper was later applied to the side of either board to help ensure noise reduction from the T1 card.
This problem was supposedly extinguished by the time Magix arrived, but I personally saw it rear it's head when a Merlin Messaging sat next to an INA board. In my case, separating the two solved the problem.

The was also a historical problem with certain voicemail cards placed immediately to the right of a carrier's power supply.

The Merlin Messaging Card is the last module in the control unit and it is not directly next to a DS1 card (there is a card between them). I might just have to switch the employee to another extension until we can figure it out.
